Croissants are croissants. They’re amazing and delicious. They’re even better when heated up and slathered in even more butter.

But how do you reheat croissants to perfection, so you can enjoy them all over again? Or heated for the first time? Don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.

Can You Reheat Croissants?

Yes. Of course, you can reheat croissants. What could go wrong?

Can You Reheat Croissants

Well, you could overheat it. You could turn it into a rock. You could make it rubbery.

So, yes, sure, you can reheat a croissant, but you really want to treat this delicate French roll delicately. Once you figure that out, you’ll be delighted.

The truth is you can reheat pretty much any leftover or day-old food as long as you use the right appliance and the right method.

For example, with foods that have been breaded or fried, you’re usually going to be better off using the air fryer or the oven. For foods that have been grilled or baked, you’ll likely be better off using the grill or the oven again.

For croissants, our best bet is probably going to be the oven. But let’s run through all of our options to be sure.

Should You Reheat Croissants?

Before we get started on how to reheat croissants, we should talk about whether we should reheat croissants.

Of course, we always want to consider proper food safety and foodborne illnesses, and look, if we were dealing with chicken or pork, it would make sense to at least think about food safety issues.

But we’re not. We’re dealing with bread.

So, it is unlikely to be an issue.

But, just in case, you should do your own research first. To help you get started, I have linked this BBC article on what you need to know about reheating takeaways.

How to Reheat Croissants in the Oven

Reheating croissants in the oven is a classic way to get your bread crusty on the outside and keep it soft and moist on the inside.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the croissants on a greased baking sheet.
  3. Heat the croissants for about 8 minutes. The roll should be steamy when you break it open and spread butter on it.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

How to Reheat Croissants in the Microwave

Quick and easy, yes. But you must be careful not to overcook it and turn the croissant into a rock when reheating it in the microwave

  1. Place your croissants in a single layer, not touching, on a microwave-safe plate.
  2. You can also place a paper towel under the croissants as well to help the bread set faster.
  3. Heat the bread on full power for 10 seconds.
  4. If necessary, you can heat for another 5 seconds.
  5. Serve with butter and enjoy.

How to Reheat Croissants in an Air Fryer

Reheating croissants in an air fryer yields amazing results, and it may become your favorite method.

  1. Heat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the croissants in a single layer and not touching each other in the fryer basket.
  3. Heat for about 4 minutes or until heated through.
  4. Serve with butter and enjoy!

How to Reheat Croissants on a Grill

Look, you’re not going to head outside and fire up your grill just to heat up croissants. No one is suggesting that.

But if you’re already outside, it’s the perfect option.

  1. Heat your grill to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place the croissants directly on the grill but away from direct flame or heat.
  2. Close the lid and allow the croissants to cook for about 2 minutes. Flip the croissants and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Serve with butter and enjoy!

The toaster oven is the beloved and much-used appliance for college students everywhere. For many decades, the toaster oven was the first appliance for many adults out on their own for the first time.

Is the toaster oven the best appliance for reheating croissants? No. There are better appliances.

But if all you’ve got is a toaster oven, or you don’t feel like dealing with bigger, more clunky appliances, you can totally fire up the toaster oven.

  1. Preheat the toaster oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the croissants on a greased baking tray.
  3. Heat the croissants for about 7 to 8 minutes.

Winner! – The Best Way to Reheat Croissants Is Using the Microwave

Yes, it’s got to be the oven for croissants. It will heat them through and keep them crusty on the outside without drying them out or turning them into rocks.

Just be sure to eat your croissants, however you heat them, quickly. They will begin to get stiff after a few minutes. Also, make sure you only heat what you want to eat right away.
