Coffee goes with everything, and if you switch to decaf in the afternoon, you can drink it all day long.

The best thing about coffee is that you can prepare it then reheat it all over again, keeping it fresh and perfect. You won’t even have to worry about burning it!

Can You Reheat Coffee?

Can You Reheat Coffee

Burning is the big concern with coffee, right? But fear not. You can reheat coffee so it gets into tip-top shape.

The biggest trick to coffee is to not burn it in the first place. If you are the one making your coffee, it is always best to make your coffee as a pour over or as a French press.

That way, the beans don’t get burned. Then, when you need to reheat the coffee, you won’t end up tasting burnt beans.

If you’re wondering if you can reheat well-made coffee, the answer is yes.

However, if you’re wondering if you can reheat poorly made coffee, why would you want to?

Yes. Of course, you can reheat coffee.

In fact, you can reheat any food that has been leftover, refrigerated or frozen. You just have to take the right approach with the right appliance.

For example, foods that have been baked or grilled are often best reheated in the oven or on the grill. At the same time, foods that have been breaded or deep fried should be reheated in the oven or in the air fryer.

With coffee, we are probably going to be best using the stovetop, but let’s make our way through each appliance to be sure.

Should You Reheat Coffee?

Should You Reheat Coffee

Before we start working through the appliances, we should address the issue of food safety and foodborne illnesses.

With coffee, we are probably safe. Unless you are reheating coffee that has dairy or sugar in it, you don’t have anything to worry about. It’s literally just bean water.

Of course, if you’re dealing with dairy, you’ll need to store it properly and then heat it up to a minimum of 165 degrees Fahrenheit to be sure it is clear of all contaminants.

If it has sugar in it, you’ll want to make sure you aren’t fermenting your coffee. You can do this by following the same guidelines you would for dairy.

And you should always do your own research to cover all of your own bases. To begin your research, you can check out this article on reheating leftovers by Healthline.

How to Reheat Coffee in the Oven

Reheating coffee in the oven seems a little crazy. I mean, most of these appliances will, right?

But let’s give it a try.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the coffee in an oven-safe baking dish and cover it.
  3. Place the coffee in the oven and heat for 20-30 minutes or until it is fully heated.
  4. Remove the coffee from the oven, pour it into your favorite mug then add your favorite mix-ins.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

How to Reheat Coffee in the Microwave

Reheating coffee in the microwave is probably the easiest way to get your coffee warmed up but likely not the best method. Still, if you’re in a hurry, it will do the trick.

  1. Place your coffee in your favorite mug.
  2. Heat the coffee in the microwave at full power in 30-second increments. It should not take more than a minute or two.
  3. Mix in your favorite ingredients and enjoy!

How to Reheat Coffee in an Air Fryer

This appliance is just too crazy to even contemplate. Reheating coffee in an air fryer is truly an impossible task, and I am all about making the impossible possible.

But the air fryer is designed to circulate air around food. It is not meant to be filled with liquid or even a liquid-filled vessel.

So, unless your air fryer is a Ninja Foodi or other type of instant pot, you cannot reheat coffee in an air fryer.

If you do have an instant pot feature in your air fryer, then you can add your coffee to the instant pot and heat it for 30 seconds to a minute and you’ll be happy as a clam!

How to Reheat Coffee on a Grill

Okay, who doesn’t love coffee heated on the grill? Classic campfire dream come true.

  1. Heat your grill to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or bring your campfire to a roaring fire.
  2. Place the coffee in a stainless-steel pot and place it over the flame.
  3. Heat the coffee until it is hot then remove from the flame immediately.

  1. Preheat the toaster oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place your coffee in a baking dish that is safe for the oven and will fit inside your small appliance and cover the dish with a lid.
  3. Heat the coffee for 10-20 minutes until it is heated through.
  4. Serve with your favorite mix-ins and enjoy!

How to Reheat Coffee in a Pan on the Stove

Seriously, there is no better way to heat up your coffee than on the stove. Unless you’re camping, then it’s definitely the campfire.

  1. Heat a stainless-steel pot over medium-low heat on the stovetop.
  2. Place your coffee in the pot.
  3. Simmer for a few minutes until the coffee is warmed through.
  4. Serve with your favorite mix-ins and enjoy!
